Mountain Cottage on Dragonder Kraal Farm is solely meant for responsible nature lovers who have a respectful attitude towards the environment.The Cottage is by no means a ‘luxury cottage’ but is definitely private, quiet, undisturbed, neat, humble, cosy and practical.
Guests and pets stay entirely at their own risk. The farm, it’s owners, employees and other residents both wild and tame accept no liability or responsibility whatsoever for damages or personal injury sustained to yourselves, your property, and or your pets during your stay on Dragonder Kraal Farm.
The fenced in garden is extensive and has some tamed areas and some untamed. It would certainly not be suitable for small children to wander around unattended.
Absolutely no guns are allowed. Don't even ask!
Respect to smokers who collect their leftovers (butts) and dispose of them in the plastics bin.Use Of The House
We endeavour to keep our environment free of all pesticides and other poisons. Please do not use any pesticides in the house. The ecosystem is very balanced and there has never been a plague of insects or other undesirables. In certain months, particularly summer, there may be more moths and a few mosquitoes but the hundreds of happy bats keep them well under control.
Sometimes there may be a rain spider or two in the house (particularly after rain). They are completely harmless. Please do not harm them. If the sight of them bothers you then simply escort them outside. We have never used any pesticides in the house and owe the lack of undesirables to our hunter-killer friends.
When preparing food for your dogs please use the outside kitchen.
Separate bins are provided for organic and inorganic materials. Please place all kitchen leftovers, peels, etc in the big organic material bucket located at the entrance to the outside kitchen. Please separately place bottles (plastic and glass), clean dry tins and paper (used for lighting fires) in the big sacks stored in the outside kitchen. All plastic wrappers can be disposed of in the bin in the house kitchen (make sure to wash off any organic residue to avoid smells).
Your cooperation in this regard will be very appreciated and just may be the start of your own personal journey in realising that many individuals separating their disposables *will* make a powerful group that will force manufacturers and distributors to take responsibility for their packaging thus sparing the environment of this burden.
Dogs are welcome to sleep inside but please do not leave them indoors unattended.
